Reserve

Choose your package and lock in your dates

Browse the packages, pick the one that fits your celebration, and submit the reservation form. No payment is due at reservation — you'll hear back from me within 24 hours, in shaa Allah, to confirm availability and answer any questions.

Once confirmed, a 50% deposit secures your dates and a refundable security hold is placed on your card. The hold is never charged unless there's damage or loss — and even then, it's capped. Everything is spelled out clearly in the Rental Agreement.

Delivery

I hand-deliver the kit to you in Chicagoland

Three to four days before your first event, I'll drive the kit to you personally — anywhere in Chicagoland and the surrounding suburbs. No shipping. No UPS drop-offs. No strangers at a counter.

The kit arrives fully charged, pre-formatted, and ready to record the moment you open the bag. I'll walk you through the basics at drop-off, or you can follow the included shot list guide at your own pace.

Return

I pick the kit up — you receive your raw footage

Within 72 hours after your final event, I'll come pick up the kit from you — same as drop-off, in person, no shipping required. Within 10 days of pick-up, you'll receive a secure Google Drive link with your organized raw footage files, sorted and named by event.

The raw footage is yours to keep. After your final film is delivered and the 30-day window closes, everything is permanently deleted from my servers.

Edit

I edit. You get a cinematic highlight film.

Over 6–8 weeks, I'll cut your footage into a cinematic highlight film (3–8 minutes depending on your package) — color-graded, paced to feel like the emotion of the day, with natural audio, nasheed, or du'a depending on your preference.

You'll receive a draft for one round of feedback. You can request up to two revisions. The final film is delivered as a high-resolution downloadable file — ready to keep, share with family, or archive forever.

Your footage stays between sisters.

If your event was gender-segregated, or if the footage includes sisters who preferred not to be filmed by or shared with a male editor, simply request the sister editor option at reservation.

Your footage is handled entirely by a sister from intake through final delivery. The editing process, color grade, and film quality are identical — the only difference is who sees it.

There is no additional charge for this option.

A few things people ask

What if no one in my family has filmed before?

The Sony FDR-AX43A is designed specifically for this. Press Record, point, and shoot — the SteadyShot stabilization handles the rest. I'll walk through the basics with whoever will be filming at drop-off, and the shot list guide covers every key moment with simple prompts like "Get a close-up of the rings" or "Film the walima entrance." Most families are surprised at how smooth their footage looks.

Do you attend the event?

No — and that's the whole point. I drop off the kit before your event and pick it up after. Your family films entirely on their own. No outside camera person to manage, no stranger navigating your guest list, no one filming moments your family would rather keep private.

What if the footage is shaky or dark?

The Sony AX43A has optical SteadyShot — a stabilizer built into the lens itself, not software stabilization. Even footage filmed while walking through a crowded hall usually comes out smooth. For low light, the camera performs exceptionally well in dim ballrooms, evening ceremonies, and candle-lit spaces without any settings changes needed.

In editing, I work with whatever footage you give me. I can't promise every moment was captured — that depends on whoever was holding the camera — but I do my absolute best with what I have.

Can I have a music-free film?

Yes — this is always available on every package. I can edit with natural audio only (ambient sound, vows, laughter, du'a), with a nasheed you provide, or with a nasheed I select from a curated collection of permissible tracks. Just let me know your preference at reservation.

How does the security hold work?

Before I drop off the kit, I send a Stripe link to place a refundable authorization hold on your card. This is not a charge — it's a temporary hold, similar to how a hotel holds a card at check-in. Your card is never actually charged unless there's significant damage or loss, and even then only up to the capped amounts listed in the Rental Agreement. The hold is released within 3–5 business days of me receiving the kit back safely.
