  1. 1. Who We Are Sakinah Studio LLC ("Sakinah Studio," "we," "us," or "our") is a video rental, editing, floral, and photography service based in the State of Illinois. This Privacy Policy applies to all information collected through our website sakinahstudio.studio, our reservation and contact forms, email communications, and our services.

Information We Collect Information you provide: contact details (names, email, phone, and address for hand-delivery and pickup); event information (event type, dates, venue city, editing preferences); payment information (billing address — credit card details are processed securely by Stripe and are never stored on our servers); video content (the raw footage you capture and submit for editing); and any messages you send us. Collected automatically: usage data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps via basic analytics) and minimal cookies to keep the site functioning — we do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

How We Use Your Information Only to: fulfill your reservation (delivering and collecting Equipment, communicating about your event, processing payment); edit and deliver your film; communicate with you; improve our service; and comply with law (tax records, legal obligations, valid law enforcement requests). We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not use your footage or personal data for advertising or marketing without your explicit written consent.
  4. 4. How We Protect Your Information Raw footage is stored on Google Drive Business with encryption at rest and in transit. Access is limited to the founder of Sakinah Studio and one trusted sister who assists with editing — no outside contractors or third parties. All footage is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days of delivering your final film and raw files. Payment information is processed through Stripe, a PCI-compliant provider; we never see or store your full card number. Website traffic is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS, and we review our security practices regularly.

Sharing Your Information We share information only with: service providers (Stripe for payments, Google for cloud storage and email — each handles only what's needed to provide their service); legal obligations (if required by subpoena, court order, or applicable law); business transfers (in the event Sakinah Studio is sold or merged, under this policy or one providing equivalent protections); and with your explicit consent for anything beyond these categories.

Use of Your Footage in Marketing We will never use clips, stills, or any identifiable footage from your event in our marketing, social media, portfolio, or any public-facing material without your written consent. If we'd like to use anything, we'll send a specific request describing exactly what and how. You may decline for any reason, and declining will never affect your service.
  7. 7. Your Rights You have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct anything inaccurate; delete your information (subject to legal retention requirements like tax records); withdraw consent for any optional use; receive a copy of your data in a portable format; and opt out of marketing communications at any time. Illinois-Specific Privacy Rights Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA): we do not collect, store, or use biometric identifiers (such as facial recognition data); faces in your footage are never analyzed for any biometric purpose. Illinois Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA): in the event of a data breach involving your personal information, we will notify you as required by law. Right to know: you may contact us to learn what categories of personal information we collect and how we use them.
  9. 9. Children's Privacy Our services are directed to adults (18+) booking events. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Footage you submit may include minors who are participants in your event — it is treated with the same strict privacy protections as all other footage. If you believe we've collected information from a child without parental consent, contact us and we will promptly delete it.
  10. 10. Cookies & Analytics We use essential cookies to keep the website functioning. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or sell cookie data. If we adopt basic analytics in the future, we will use a privacy-respecting provider and aggregate data only. You may disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.
  11. 11. Data Retention Raw footage and edited films — deleted within 30 days of final delivery. Booking records (names, emails, event details) — retained 3 years for tax and business continuity, then deleted. Payment records — retained as required by IRS and Illinois tax law (currently 7 years). Testimonials or consented marketing content — retained as long as relevant, or until consent is withdrawn.
